Curatorial Statement
"The true mystery of the world is the visible, not the invisible." — Oscar Wilde
Storytelling - An Invisible Exhibition is an immersive, multidisciplinary inquiry into the mechanics of perception and the transient nature of narrative. Rooted in the paradox of the "visible" and the "invisible," the exhibition functions as a living archive of stories—both those articulated and those left unheard. Drawing inspiration from the ancient Chinese tradition of street storytellers, this project reimagines the gallery as a communal vessel for the spreading of "great stories" through light, shadow, and space.
Interdisciplinary Transformation
As a pilot for radical collaborative practice, this exhibition brought together six creators from disparate fields: graphic design, painting, fashion, illustration, sound, and lighting. The curatorial intent was to dismantle the "defined frames" that restrict individual disciplines, guiding artists through a transformative process of compromise and collective integration. The result is a theatrical, homogenous atmosphere where the act of telling—the process itself—is elevated above the finished artifact.
The Scenography of the Unseen
The exhibition transforms the gallery into a three-dimensional "book," utilizing 500 meters of paper and 2,000 strands of white thread suspended from the ceiling to create an ethereal, tactile landscape. Within this layered environment, the narrative remains in a constant state of flux:
Luminous Duality: Using a complex choreography of flickering bulbs, 9 UV lights, and LEDs, the environment cycles every 30 seconds.
Revealed Narratives: Artists utilized UV-reactive paints to create illustrations that emerge and vanish with the light cycle, reflecting the friction between our visual reality and hidden subconscious narratives.
Scattered Voices: Stories are presented on slips of paper scattered throughout the space, inviting spectators to piece together a fragmented, non-linear experience.
Storytelling invites the audience to navigate a space where light and ink collaborate to make the invisible felt, challenging us to reflect on the stories we carry and the silence we inhabit.

(The Scenography of the Unseen)
